Batch Updates
The Batch Updates page can be used to:
- Adjust charges for a particular payer class
- Change the status of a set of charges
- Manually removing charges from claim delay
- Completing a mass rebill of charges
- Remove Claims from the scrubbing process
Batch Updates
- Open Billing and select Batch Updates.
- Enter your Search Criteria. Company is always required, as is one of the following: Patient ID, Date of Service Range (limited to 92 days), or Run Number.
- Click Search. Note: Depending on your user role, you can perform up to four actions on this page. Some roles will only have view access and won't see these options.
- Adjust
- Rebill
- Add Claim Delay
- Remove Claim Delay
Important: Only the first 5000 records will be retrieved. If the search returns more than 5000 records, the following alert will display. Select Continue to view affected records.
Adjust
Use the Adjust option to adjust off the entire remaining balance of the charges.
- Use the checkboxes to select the charge(s), and ensure your Adjustment Code and Transaction Message are appropriate for the scenario, click Apply.
- The confirmation message displays the number of updated charges and the total charge amount of those updated charges.
- You’ll also see that the status of the charges is now 0, which indicates there is zero balance on those charges.
Rebill
Use the Rebill option to update the charge status to any of the following options.
- Use the checkboxes to select the charge(s), choose Rebill, and select the New Status. Click Apply.
- The confirmation message displays the number of updated charges and the total charge amount of those updated charges.
- You’ll also see that the status of the charges has been updated to T. These charges are now available on the Charge Review page for review before the automated scrubbing and billing processes.
Add Claim Delay
Put charges on claim delay for any of the available reasons.
- Use the checkboxes to select the charge(s), choose Add Claim Delay, and select the Claim Delay Reason. Click Apply.
- The confirmation message displays the number of updated charges and the total charge amount of those updated charges.
- You’ll also see that the status of the charges selected has been updated to L. These charges are now held on the Claim Delay page and will remain until manually released.
Remove Claim Delay
Bulk release claims from the Delayed Claims page by Claim Delay Reason or by All.
- Use the checkboxes to select the charge(s), choose Remove Claim Delay, and select the Claim Delay Reason to release. Click Apply.
- The confirmation message displays the number of updated charges and the total charge amount of those updated charges.
- You’ll also see that the status of the charges selected has been updated to D. These charges are in the holding tank pending the nightly charge edit and scrubbing processes.
