Correct Coding Initiative

Accurate coding and reporting of services are critical aspects of proper billing. The Medicare Correct Coding Initiative (NCCI) Procedure-to-Procedure (PTP) code pair edits are automated prepayment edits that prevent improper payment when certain codes are submitted together for Part B-covered services. The Correct Coding Initiative screen identifies the code pairs that are built into the application. This page is read-only. 

1. Start by selecting Billing, then click Correct Coding Initiative.
2. Once the screen populates, all codes entered in the system will appear. If you bill the Code in the first column with any of the Codes in the second column, then the Modifier listed in the third column (NC/59) will automatically be applied.
   1. To see the Modifier that will be attached, use the scroll bar at the bottom of the list and drag it to the right.

   Export or print the list of codes as needed.
